VISION
Spotlighted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting a diverse group of rising filmmakers and assisting them in telling their unique stories.
WHAT WE DO
Spotlighted aims to shine lights on up-and-coming filmmakers.
Spotlighted introduces you to young filmmakers with unique stories to tell. You'll learn more about them, their journey, their work, and what they hope to do through interviews and articles.

Koseli Thakali is a high schooler from Pennsylvania. From a young age she was fascinated with storytelling through several mediums, from illustration and comics to creative writing and filmmaking.
FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
The world is filled with so many different people who carry so many unique stories with them. These stories shape and inspire future generations, making them extremely important to the development of societies. Since I was little, I loved consuming stories, but it was often hard to find stories that reflected my identity and culture. So, I founded Spotlighted to help increase diversity and representation in the film industry. This starts with diverse storytellers.
When I founded a film production club at my high school, I realized firsthand just how hard it is to create and share stories through the filmmaking medium. However, through collaborating with the over 100 people involved in the club’s projects, I also realized how enjoyable it was. We were able to share the voices of over 20 writers, and our diverse writing group aided in the development of our most recent movie. I found that having a wide array of perspectives helped us brainstorm ideas that would be impossible for a single person.
Through Spotlighted, I hope to be able to shine lights on those with different perspectives so that the industry as a whole can benefit, and future generations can become inspired no matter who they are or what their background is.
